Upcoming Events:April 25, 2008: Invention 2 VentureThe second Invention to Venture workshop hosted by UCCS will be held on April 25, 2008 in the University Center Theatre. Part of a nationwide series of conferences focusing on technology entrepreneurship, speakers will discuss opportunity assessment, intellectual property issues, marketing, and venture capital as it relates to the conference theme "Doing Business with the Government." Past Events:January 24, 2008 STTR/SBIR Workshop Dr. Terry Boult reviewed the STTR/SBIR program and discussed the process involved to produce winning grant proposals. He encouraged faculty, graduate students, and community members to write proposals to fund their research. January 9, 2008: STTR/SBIR Proposal Workshop The goal of the workshop is to review the SBIR/STTR program and what it takes to produce winning proposals. CITTI has offered many SBIR Seminars in the past, and this continued in that successful series. It was 3-10 P.M. at Copper Mountain so participants could get in a day of skiing (or work) before and after. August 25, 2007: Mothers of Invention Workshop Dr. Michael Larson, Ph.D., of UCCS’s Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and CITTI's El Pomar Chair of Engineering and Innovation hosted this event. The MOI workshop was designed to help women test their ideas, develop them, and either take their product prototypes to market or sell their ideas to an established company. Held at The Penrose House over 130 people attended this informational event. Imagination Celebration!, The Small Business Development Center, CITTI , and El Pomar Foundation jointly presented the MOI Workshop. April 27, 2007: Invention to Venture Workshop The first Invention to Venture workshop hosted by UCCS was held on April 27, 2007 in the University Center Theatre. Part of a nationwide series of conferences focusing on technology entrepreneurship, speakers discussed opportunity assessment, intellectual property issues, venture capital and much more. The I2V workshop was sponsored by the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance, KRCC Radio and The Gazette. April 25, 2007: 2007 Entrepreneurial Finance Speaker Series presented Venture Capital by Patrick BultemaVenture Partner, vSpring Capital . All of the 2007 Entrepreneurial Finance Speaker Series events were held at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in the University Center Theater. The series was sponsored by the Colorado Institute for Technology Transfer and Implementation (CITTI) and the Center for Entrepreneurship in the College of Business and Administration at UCCS. April 4, 2007: 2007 Entrepreneurial Finance Speaker Series presented Raising Angel Funding and Seed Capital by Karl DakinEntrepreneur and Start-up Specialist February 28, 2007: 2007 Entrepreneurial Finance Speaker Series presented Successful Failure by Steve BakerFounder, Global Group; Serial Entrepreneur; Author February 20, 2007: 2007 Entrepreneurial Finance Speaker Series presented From founding to Exit in 14 years by Carlos FrumFounder, Northbrook Computers; INC Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year; Entrepreneur in Residence, Depaul University January 31, 2007: 2007 Entrepreneurial Finance Speaker Series presented Making Great Decisions in Business and Life by David Henderson, PhDHoover Fellow, Author, Frequent WSJ Op-Ed Contributor November 10, 2006: STTR/SBIR Proposal Workshop The goal of the workshop was to review the SBIR/STTR program and what it takes to produce winning proposals. CITTI has offered many SBIR Seminars in the past, but this version was a bit more focused on the STTR process intended for faculty and small businesses that want to partner with CU on STTR proposals. |
